Turkish Coffee Pot Silver Set 2-piece Niello — Ottoman

There are gifts you unwrap, and gifts you put on display. This Turkish coffee pot and silver spoon set falls into the latter category—and goes one step further: it pairs a classic Niello cezve with a thematically matched coffee spoon, whose handle end continues the same motif. Both pieces speak the same visual language of acanthus scrolls and diamond-cross medallions, rendered in black Niello on 925 sterling silver.

Material and craftsmanship

The cezve silhouette—tapered neck, bulbous base, silver cuff at the handle transition—follows the classic 16th-century form. The entire outer wall is adorned with acanthus scrolls in deep Niello black, interrupted by the central diamond-cross medallion. The long beech wood handle reliably insulates the hand from the heat. The silver spoon serves as a thematic echo of the pot: the handle end decoration features a Niello medallion with a stylized coffee cup with rising steam, flanked by three coffee beans. Niello is not a paint or coating, but an alloy that is fused into engraved depressions, creating a chemical-physical bond with the silver—not a lacquer that will peel off.

Usage and occasions

The coffee pot holds 370 ml, enough for 3 to 4 cups of Turkish mocha of 60–70 ml each. Suitable heat sources include gas flames, ceramic hobs, and hot sand; induction is not suitable as silver is not ferromagnetic. As a complete gift set, the Ottomana composition is perfect for weddings, silver anniversaries, golden anniversaries, or jubilees, as well as a prestigious gift for coffee lovers who view the spoon as part of the ritual. The set can also be customized—further combinations with additional spoons, mocha cups, or other quantities can be arranged; just contact us.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

Both pieces in the set can be individually engraved after consultation. A name engraving on the coffee pot, for example on the smooth inner side of the neck or on the base, makes the piece unmistakable. Initials can be engraved on the bowl or the back of the spoon handle. Upon request, we can include a personal SilberVerse card in photo format (15 × 10 cm landscape)—custom-designed, occasion-appropriate, and free of charge.

Care

A soft silver polishing cloth is sufficient for both silver parts; no immersion baths or aggressive cleaners. Keep the beech wood handle dry after use, do not soak, and occasionally rub with a drop of walnut oil. Both pieces are suitable for hand washing only; not dishwasher safe.
