Tea set for 2 people 925 silver niello — Floralis

Eight pieces of solid 925 silver with the same floral niello ornament — this is not a sample set, but a complete table setting for two. A teapot, two cups, two saucers, two teaspoons, and a sugar bowl together form the Floralis collection by SevChern from Veliky Ustyug: blossoms, vines, and leaves, hand-engraved and fused in deep black into matte silver. A service that lacks nothing and can be expanded for larger gatherings as needed.

Material and craftsmanship

All eight pieces bear the same floral niello pattern in the botanical style of the Veliky Ustyug school: blossoms, vines, and leaves that traverse the cup, pot, and sugar bowl. Niello is not a printing ink, enamel, or coating, but a black metal alloy that is fused into engraved depressions and chemically bonded to the silver. What is on this service today will be exactly the same in thirty years — silver tarnishes over time, but niello does not. SevChern has been practicing this technique since 1933, with over 15 steps per piece, and won the gold medal at the 1937 Paris World's Fair. The teapot holds 550 ml, enough for four to five cups without refilling, and the sugar bowl holds 220 ml. Together, they create a complete table for two, with no piece missing.

Usage and occasions

A complete silver service as a wedding gift is a statement for the decades: the couple uses it, shows it to guests, and eventually passes it on — not replaced after a year, but becoming more beautiful with time, as silver gains character with every use. For an anniversary, a milestone birthday, or a promotion, eight pieces of 925 silver with hand-engraved niello say more than any explanation. The Floralis collection can also be configured for any number of people upon request — for 1, 2, 4, 6, or more. Individual pieces can be reordered at any time: additional cups and saucers, teaspoons, a milk and cream jug, a coffee pot, or the large open sugar bowl. A tea strainer, sugar tongs, lemon fork, and sugar spoon are available upon request — just let us know when ordering.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

The bottoms of the cups and sugar bowl offer space for personal engravings — a date, initials, a sentence. Provide your engraving request when ordering. Upon request, we can also include a SilberVerse card in 15 × 10 cm landscape photo format: individually designed, appropriate for the occasion, and free of charge.

Care

Hand wash with lukewarm water and mild dish soap; do not use a dishwasher. The niello ornament is permanently fused and is not harmed by normal cleaning — but do not use a silver dip. The matte silver surface can be refreshed with a soft silver polishing cloth. Store in the gift case.
