A children's cup that is not only beautiful to look at, but also grows with the child – that is the exact idea behind the DoDo collection by ArgentA. This cup features a classic steam locomotive as a raised silver relief on the front, while colorful enamel dots in green, yellow, and blue form a small chain of color on the handle. Material and craftsmanship

The cylindrical base shape with a slightly raised rim and stable footing is intentionally understated, allowing the motif and handle to take center stage. The steam locomotive is embossed in relief into the silver, with a recognizable cab, boiler, chimney, and four wheels – kept compact and placed centrally so that it gives the cup character without dominating the silver surface. The actual trademark is located on the handle: an ergonomic bow handle, adorned at the top edge with a row of colorful enamel dots in green, yellow, and blue. These dots are intentionally designed to be tactile – when gripping, the child experiences not only a smooth metal surface but also different surface stimuli. They playfully support fine motor skills, the sense of touch, and color perception. The cup is crafted using traditional Russian silversmithing techniques.

The steam locomotive motif

A locomotive is one of the most enduring children's motifs in European culture. It stands for travel, progress, and adventure – and for the classic childhood dream of becoming a train driver. Anyone who played with a wooden train as a child, experienced their first train trip, or dreamed of a grand journey carries this image as a firm childhood symbol. On a silver baptismal cup, this becomes a lasting companion: a little silver travel friend that says – reach for your dreams, the world is big.

Occasions and target groups

Key occasions are the baptism of a boy, the birth of a son, or a first birthday; it is also suitable as a gift for the first tooth or as a godparent gift for a later milestone. The train motif is traditionally associated with boys – the steam locomotive is a lasting classic for boys. The cup is equally suitable for girls who are fascinated by trains or families who simply find the motif beautiful; those looking for a deliberately gender-neutral motif will find the angel cup as an alternative within the DoDo line. Godparents value the cup as a modern silver gift with educational added value, grandparents as a functional and child-friendly gift, and parents as an atmospheric introduction for the little train driver in the making.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

The smooth back of the cup can be engraved upon review – typically a name and baptism date, or alternatively a monogram, date of birth, or a short baptismal verse. The engraving is carried out after review and personal coordination; please contact us briefly before ordering, and we will advise you on placement, font, and text length. Upon request, we will include a free SilberVerse card with your order: an individually designed photo motif in 15 × 10 cm landscape format, matching the occasion and the recipient.

Care

925 sterling silver is durable. Clean the cup after use with lukewarm water and a mild dish soap, then dry with a soft cloth. The enamel dots on the handle are fired at a high temperature and are permanently fixed – avoid abrasive materials and aggressive cleaners here. If tarnished, a silver polishing cloth with gentle polishing on the locomotive relief is sufficient, without applying pressure to the enamel dots. Not dishwasher safe, and no silver baths directly on the enamel. The included DoDo gift box or a velvet pouch is suitable for storage – this minimizes tarnishing and preserves the high polish for years.
