DoDo Children's Mug, 925 Silver, Train Design — tactile handle, 100 ml

A children's cup that not only looks beautiful but is also meant to grow with the child – this is the exact idea behind the DoDo collection by ArgentA. On the front, this cup features a classic steam locomotive as a three-dimensional silver relief, while colorful enamel dots in green, yellow, and blue form a small chain of color on the handle. For little train drivers and everyone currently discovering the world with their hands and eyes, this is more than just decoration – it is silver that plays along.

Material and workmanship

The cylindrical base shape with a slightly raised rim and stable footing is intentionally understated, allowing the motif and handle to take center stage. The steam locomotive is embossed into the silver, featuring a recognizable cab, boiler, chimney, and four wheels – kept compact and centrally placed so that it gives the cup character without dominating the silver surface. The actual hallmark is found on the handle: an ergonomic loop handle, adorned at the upper edge with a row of colorful enamel dots in green, yellow, and blue. These dots are intentionally designed to be tactile – when gripping the cup, the child experiences not just a smooth metal surface, but varied sensory impulses. They playfully support fine motor skills, sense of touch, and color perception. The cup is crafted using traditional Russian silversmithing techniques.

The steam locomotive as a motif

A locomotive is one of the most enduring children's motifs in European culture. It represents travel, progress, and adventure – and the classic childhood dream of being a train driver. Anyone who played with a wooden train set as a child, experienced their first train trip, or dreamed of a great journey carries this image as a firm symbol of childhood. On a silver baptismal cup, this becomes a lasting companion: a little silver "traveling companion" that says – reach for your dreams, the world is big.

Occasions and target groups

Primary occasions include a boy's baptism, the birth of a son, or a first birthday; it is equally suitable as a gift for the first tooth or as a godparent's gift for a later milestone. The train motif is traditionally associated with boys – the steam locomotive is a perennial boys' classic. For girls with a fascination for trains or families who simply find the motif beautiful, the cup is just as suitable; those looking for a deliberately gender-neutral motif can find the angel cup as an alternative within the DoDo line. Godparents appreciate the cup as a modern silver gift with pedagogical added value, grandparents as a functional gift tailored to children, and parents as an atmospheric introduction for the little train driver-to-be.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

The smooth back can be engraved – names and baptism dates are common, alternatively, a monogram, date of birth, or a short baptism verse. Simply order the flat-rate fee via our engraving service at the same time. After your order, we will coordinate the wording with you and advise you on placement, font, and text length. Upon request, we will include a free SilberVerse card with your order: an individually designed photo motif in 15 × 10 cm landscape format, tailored to the occasion and the recipient.

Care

925 sterling silver is durable. Clean the cup after use with lukewarm water and mild dish soap, then dry it with a soft cloth. The enamel dots on the handle are fired at high temperatures and permanently fixed – avoid scouring agents and aggressive cleaners here. For patina, a silver polishing cloth with gentle polishing on the locomotive relief is sufficient, without applying pressure to the enamel dots. Not dishwasher-safe; do not use silver baths directly on the enamel. The included DoDo gift box or a velvet pouch is suitable for storage – this minimizes tarnishing and preserves the high gloss for years.
