Description
Eventually, little ones will no longer want to drink from a bottle, but rather from a real cup like the grown-ups. If you have gifted a child a silver cup for their christening, or are currently thinking about it, this children's cup made of 925 sterling silver is a piece that will accompany this transition and last well beyond it. A gooseberry vine with leaves is hand-wrought into the silver using niello work—an image that children enjoy looking at while they learn to drink.

Material and craftsmanship
The cup is made of 925 sterling silver and features a motif of gooseberries and leaves, which was hand-wrought into the surface using niello. Niello is neither a paint nor a print, but a dark metal alloy that is set into fine engravings, allowing it to remain permanently bonded to the silver. The narrow handle is designed to be easy for small children's hands to grip, while the compact body with its 80 ml capacity is perfectly suited for small amounts of liquid.
Usage and occasions
This children's cup is suitable as a supplement to existing christening silver or as a standalone gift for a birth or christening. It is a lovely choice for parents who want to accompany the transition from bottle to their own drinking cup with a special piece. Experience has shown that decorated tableware brings children more joy than plain pieces, and the gooseberry motif gives the cup a narrative, natural character. This cup is also a great choice as a gift from godparents or grandparents who want to select a piece in real silver instead of a fleeting toy.
Engraving and SilberVerse card
Custom engraving, such as a name or date, is possible upon review. Please feel free to contact us about our engraving service, and we will advise you on placement and execution. Upon request, we can also include a personal SilberVerse card in photo format (15 × 10 cm)—individually designed, appropriate for the occasion, and free of charge.
Care
Clean the cup by hand with warm water and mild dish soap and dry it with a soft cloth. The niello design is resistant to normal care and will not change its color or depth. Avoid aggressive cleaning agents and the dishwasher to ensure the silver and engraving remain beautiful for a long time.
