Children's Mug 925 Silver Teddy Bear — Silver Relief, Royal Childhood

Almost every child has a teddy bear. It lies on the pillow, is dragged through the house, eventually gets lost in the park or ends up in the washing machine. A teddy bear is the most fleeting important object of childhood.

This silver cup picks up on that. It shows a teddy bear — but not the one that gets lost, but the one that stays.

The Silver Fur

The teddy bear on the front is crafted from the wall of the cup. Head, ears, round body, legs pointing forward as if crossed. What's special: The fur is textured. Small dots and lines embossed into the silver surface create a velvety shimmer in the light — not smooth, not reflective, but like a tiny replica of plush fur.

If you run your finger over the motif, you'll feel the difference between the smooth cup surface and the textured teddy bear. This is a deliberate artisanal decision: The teddy bear should be tactile, even in silver.

Why no color, no enamel

Königliche Kindheit has a second teddy bear variant in its collection: the brown teddy bear with a captain's cap (SW10777) — with brown enamel, white cap, and a golden crown. There, the teddy bear is a character with personality, a little captain.

This cup, however, takes a different approach. No enamel, no color, no elaborate staging. A teddy bear in pure silver — quiet, classic, without drama. It functions as a universal image of remembrance: not THE teddy of a specific scene, but THE teddy as an idea.

Gender-neutral — intentionally

While prince, princess, boy, girl are clearly gender-marked, the teddy bear stands outside this categorization. Every child had or has a teddy bear. This makes this cup a safe choice:

• If the gender of the christened child is not yet known
• If there are several children in the family and you want something uniform
• If the giver consciously wishes to avoid a gender focus

The engraving — what fits

The back accommodates engravings. For a teddy bear motif, the following work particularly well: only the name (like a name tag on a cuddly toy), the birth date alone, or the combination of name + "For Christening". Less suitable are overly heraldic dedications; the motif itself is so warm that the engraving should not compete.

The Shape
