Material and workmanship

The base material is 925 sterling silver, high-gloss polished. The central rocaille cartouche is framed by gold-engraved acanthus leaves and volutes; inside lies a silver guilloché background, a fine horizontal line grid from which the gold-plated four-leaf blossom stands out in relief. The gilding is engraved and inlaid: the lines are first engraved into the silver and then filled with gold—no foil, no spray, no electroplating. The case is crafted at the Mstera manufactory in the Russian region of Vladimir, where goldsmithing, icon painting, and lacquer painting have come together since the 17th century. The case bears a 925 hallmark.

Care

Silver tarnishes over time in everyday use, a natural reaction to sulfur compounds in the air. For the Fortuna, this is primarily visible on the mirror-polished silver surface between the gold ornaments, while the gold lines remain bright. With a soft silver polishing cloth, the original luster can be restored in one to two minutes without damaging the gold inlay. Keep dry, ideally in the included gift case. Do not put in the dishwasher; avoid scouring sponges and direct contact with perfume or skin cream.
