Material and Workmanship

The base material is 925 sterling silver, highly polished. The central rocaille cartouche is framed by gold-engraved acanthus leaves and volutes, with a silver guilloche background inside, a fine horizontal line grid, from which the gold-plated four-leaf blossom stands out plastically. The gilding is engraved: The lines were first engraved into the silver and then filled with gold, no foil, no spray, no galvanic layer. The case is manufactured in the Mstera manufactory in the Russian Vladimir region, where goldsmithing, icon painting, and lacquer painting have come together since the 17th century. Each piece bears its own manufacturer's mark in addition to the 925 silver hallmark.
