Christening Set Our Lady of Kazan 925 Silver Gold-Plated — Spoon + Cross Pendant, Consecrated

Would you like to give something for the christening that the family keeps for a lifetime? This christening set in 925 silver shows Our Lady of Kazan gold-plated in the medallion. A consecrated cross goes with it.

Christening in the Orthodox tradition: the cross first

The christening cross is part of an Orthodox christening. Depending on the parish, a christening gown, candle, icon or spoon are added as gifts. The parish will tell you which things it expects. This set covers cross and spoon.

Mary with the Child in the medallion

Our Lady of Kazan is one of the most venerated icons of Mary in the Eastern Church. The image shows Mary with the Child. In the medallion it is worked in relief, and both figures are gold-plated.

Especially at the christening, when a child is received into the community, the image of mother and child feels familiar.

Gold plating only in the image

Mary and the Child in the medallion are gold-plated. A small crown sits at the top, while the rest of the silver is light and carries a tendril ornament on the handle.

According to the maker, the spoon weighs approx. 13 g, and its format is 113 × 26 × 10 mm. The cross adds approx. 1 g. The silver weight of the set: approx. 14 g.

Prayer verse and border on the backs

On the back of the medallion a three-line prayer verse stands in relief: “Пресвятая Богородице спаси нас”, in English “Most Holy Mother of God, save us”. On the back of the bowl a tendril border runs around a mirror-smooth field.

Consecrated in Kolchugino

Consecrated by an Orthodox parish, namely that of the Svyato-Pokrovsky Church in Kolchugino, both pieces lie in the case. You receive a certificate with them. We attach no assurance to it.

Engraving on the back of the handle

The back of the handle takes 10 to 12 characters, for example a first name. The engraving service goes into the cart as well, and the desired text is whatever you state in the “order note at checkout”.

The cord for the cross

A white cord comes with the cross, in blue or pink on request. You name the colour in the “order note at checkout” before you order. The cord is missing in the photos.

The case and the bow

The spoon lies with a white satin bow in the yellow-orange “Royal Childhood” case, with the cross next to it. The lid belongs with it. The case measures approx. 78 × 188 × 40 mm, and the photo may differ slightly.

Other versions

When is the engraving text decided?

How do I care for silver and gold plating?
Clean both by hand in lukewarm water and rub them dry gently. None of it goes into the dishwasher.

Can I hand over the spoon and cross separately?
Yes. Both pieces are consecrated, so you can present them individually. The case remains as packaging for both.
