What makes this Capricorn zodiac set special
The teaspoon is perfect for a cup of tea or coffee, while the spoon and fork are ideal for a slice of cake. Both spoons feature the same gilded illustration in the bowl: a Capricorn with a fish tail, shown smaller on the teaspoon. The fork features the Capricorn symbol on a shield below the tines. Niello blossoms at the ends of the handles tie the three pieces together.
The Capricorn: Earth sign of the holiday season
As an Earth sign, the Capricorn accompanies the weeks from December 22 to January 20. The hybrid creature of a goat and a fish, the sea-goat, is an image known since Mesopotamian times.
Separating Christmas and birthdays
If a birthday falls on December 24 or 25, it needs a gift that doesn't feel like a festive holiday present. This set bears the recipient's own zodiac sign and belongs solely to the birthday child. For the holiday itself, we offer silver Christmas gifts.
Niello, engraved by hand
The art of niello has been documented in Veliky Ustyug since 1683. SevChern engraves the patterns by hand, and the dark mixture is then fused into the metal.
Frequently asked questions about the Capricorn set
Which zodiac sign is December 25?
Capricorn, as Christmas Day falls within the period of December 22 to January 20.
Does the teaspoon also feature the Capricorn image?
Yes, in a smaller size. The dessert spoon and teaspoon share the same illustration (Capricorn with a fish tail).
Can the Capricorn set be expanded if I am missing a piece?
At any time: the dessert spoon, dessert fork, and teaspoon are available individually, and the Capricorn dessert cutlery is available as a pair.
Can I have a name engraved in the bowl of the Capricorn spoon?
No, the bowl features the Capricorn illustration. For names, we provide the SilberVerse card at no extra charge.
How should the niello inlay in the Capricorn set be cared for?
It can be hand-washed and dried immediately, but it should not be put in the dishwasher or cleaned in silver baths. More information is available in our guide to the technique.
