Baby Gift Set 925 Silver – Children's Cup and Tactile Spoon Train

A drinking cup that eventually ends up in a drawer, and a spoon that disappears once the baby starts eating solid foods — that is the fate of most baby gifts. Anyone looking instead for something that remains as a keepsake while still being used daily will find an answer in this two-piece set consisting of a children's cup and baby spoon with a locomotive motif: 925 sterling silver, a classic symbol of movement for boys, and colorful enamel accents that give the set a playful, child-friendly character. Whether as a gift for a birth, a baptism, or from a godparent to their godchild — this duo is designed for a long life shared with the child.

Material and workmanship

Both items are made of 925 sterling silver — intended for daily use at the child's table, not just for the shelf. The cup features a locomotive as a semi-relief on the belly, framed by wheels and small details that make the train instantly recognizable. The spoon picks up the same motif on the head and implements it in warm enamel colors — green, yellow, blue, and red combine to form a cheerful harmony of colors that stands out clearly from plain polished silver. The manufacturer is ArgentA, a workshop with experience in child-friendly silver work.

Occasions and target audiences

For generations, the locomotive has been a symbol of setting out and the first personal journey — an image that fits a boy's first big steps. For a birth, the set is suitable as a gift from grandparents or close family friends who want to give the newborn something that lasts beyond the baby years. For a baptism, it becomes a classic godparent gift in a modern form. And by the first birthday, when the child begins to grasp and spoon food themselves, the baby spoon turns from a keepsake into a daily companion. This set also fits well into the series of early life milestones as a gift for the first tooth or a naming ceremony.

If you are looking for a counterpart for a girl, it is worth taking a look at the version with an angel motif in pink — same idea, different symbolism.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

The cup can be engraved on the back of the belly — a name and date of birth fit here without covering the locomotive. Add the engraving service flat rate directly to your shopping cart; we will coordinate the wording with you afterwards. After inspection, the spoon can also be engraved with a short name on the back of the handle. Upon request, we will include a free 15 × 10 cm landscape-format SilberVerse card with your order — digitally designed and individually tailored to the child.

Care

925 sterling silver will naturally tarnish darker over time — this is normal patina and not a defect. With a soft silver polishing cloth, the shine is back in a few seconds. The enamel dots are colorfast and withstand mild cleaning, but should not be put in the dishwasher — hand washing with warm water and mild dish soap is sufficient and preserves both the silver and the color accents in the long run.

Frequently asked questions

At what age can the set be used?
The cup is suitable as a drinking cup from about 12 months, and before that as a tactile object and keepsake. The baby spoon accompanies the child from the start of solid foods, usually from about 6 months, and remains in use into the toddler years.

Is the locomotive only suitable for boys?
The motif is classically assigned to the boy target group. Those who wish to give a gender-neutral gift or a gift for a girl can find other motifs to choose from in our 925 silver birth gifts.

Can the set be personalized?
Yes: The cup can be engraved on the back; we will check the spoon individually. You add the flat rate directly to the shopping cart, and we will discuss the text and implementation in line with the motif with you afterwards.
