Material and Craftsmanship

Both bowls are made of solid 925 sterling silver and feature the same floral niello ornament: blossoms and foliage, hand-engraved into the silver surface and filled with the dark niello alloy. After melting, the surface is polished until the niello is flush with the silver—not a coating or a layer of paint, but a motif that remains part of the metal and, with careful polishing, gains contrast over time rather than fading. The set is crafted by SevChern in Veliky Ustyug, where the art of niello has been documented since 1683. The set is hallmarked.

Usage and Occasions

In this set, the small caviar bowl sits inside the large ice bowl: the ice maintains the temperature, the silver holds the caviar, and the shared niello motif unites both pieces into a harmonious display. As a gift, this two-piece set is suitable for weddings, milestone birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, or as an exceptional corporate gift—and equally as a luxury object for your own table, when fine dining is part of the experience.

Care

Hand wash with warm water and mild detergent, dry with a soft cloth. Do not use a dishwasher, aggressive cleaning agents, or silver dip baths. Tarnish on the silver surface can be removed with a silver polishing cloth. The niello is resistant to standard care.
