Schnapps Glasses Set 925 Silver Niello Grapes — Box with 3 Glasses

A silver container that opens to reveal three shot glasses inside. The container is shaped like a stemmed bowl with a domed lid, featuring a deep blue shimmering grape ornament on every surface, gold rims, and a gold finial on the lid. The three glasses inside bear the same motif, are gold-plated on the interior, and fit perfectly into the opening of the bowl. Lid off, glasses out, pour, toast, put them back, lid on — a drinks set that acts like a sculpture when not in use.

Material and craftsmanship

What makes this set special is that the container is not just packaging, but part of the experience. The stemmed bowl with domed lid stands on a baluster base with its own ornamental band—when closed, it looks like a centerpiece. Only when the lid is lifted do the three glasses appear, standing side by side in the bowl with their gold rims facing upward. The same ornament adorns all four parts: heavy grapes hang from vines, framed by leaves, with golden surfaces glowing against the dark blue enamel background. In Russian ornamentation, the grape has always represented abundance and pleasure—a motif that is just as fitting for a schnapps set as it is for a wine chalice. On the container, the pattern covers the entire bowl and lid; every grape, leaf, and vine is hand-engraved into the silver and fired with the enamel, while the golden accents are applied separately. For a four-piece set, this effort is multiplied accordingly. The SevChern workshop in Veliky Ustyug has been continuing this technique for generations.

Usage and occasions

For a company anniversary or a business gift intended to make a significant impression, this set is a surefire choice—three shot glasses in a silver container with a domed lid will be unpacked, admired, and remembered. It is also well-suited for a milestone birthday, such as a 50th or 60th: three glasses for three close friends, with the container serving as a focal point on the mantelpiece afterward. For a wedding or silver anniversary, the three glasses can be interpreted as the bride, groom, and best man, or simply as three generations of a family held together by the container as a shared vessel. And after a lifetime of work, a set like this makes a retirement gift that colleagues can choose together, which the retiree can then use for many evenings to come.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

Upon review, engraving is possible on the glasses—on the base or the rim—as well as on the container, on the base or the inside of the lid. On request, we include a personalized SilberVerse card in photo format (15 × 10 cm landscape), designed free of charge as a unique piece for the occasion.

Care

Clean all four parts exclusively by hand with lukewarm water and dry them afterward with a soft cloth. The gold-plated surfaces and the niello inlays are sensitive to aggressive cleaning agents and dishwashers—a silver polishing cloth is completely sufficient for regular shine. Store the set closed in the container; this provides additional protection for the glasses.

Frequently asked questions

Can you drink from the glasses?

Yes—the glasses are made of 925 silver and are gold-plated on the inside. Each glass holds approx. 2 to 3 cl, a classic portion for schnapps or vodka. Clean the glasses with warm water instead of using a dishwasher.

Does the container stand stably without the glasses?

Yes, the stemmed bowl stands securely on its wide base, with or without the glasses, and with or without the lid in place. When closed, it looks like an independent sculpture; when open, it serves as a serving vessel.

Is an engraving possible?

Yes, upon review—on the glasses on the base or rim, on the container on the base or on the inside of the lid, with a free SilberVerse card on request.
