Christening Set Guardian Angel Medallion 925 Silver, Gold-Plated Angel — Spoon + Cross Pendant, Consecrated

How do you showcase an angel without overloading the silver? In this christening set, only the angel in the medallion is gold-plated, and everything else stays silver. Spoon and cross pendant are consecrated and come in a case.

Only the angel is gold-plated

The medallion at the end of the handle is round and carries a small crown at the top. The angel stands upright inside it, wings at its sides. Only the angel is gold-plated.

An inscription runs around the angel, and the ground stays silver. Below it on the handle follows a vine ornament, and the bowl is smooth. The spoon is approx. 113 mm long, approx. 25 mm wide and approx. 10 mm high. On the scales it shows approx. 13 g.

Consecration and certificate from Kolchugino

Spoon and cross are consecrated. The consecration was carried out by the parish of the Church of the Protection and Intercession of the Virgin in Kolchugino, which belongs to the Eparchy of Alexandrov in the Moscow Patriarchate. You receive consecrated pieces with a certificate.

Silver cross with cord

The cross stays silver. It has the Orthodox form with trefoil-shaped ends, corpus and eyelet, and measures approx. 20 mm at approx. 1 g.

A white cord comes with the cross. If you prefer blue or pink, write that in the “order note at checkout”. The product photos show the cross without the ribbon.

Room for the name under the medallion

Under the medallion, on the back of the handle, 10 to 12 characters are available. Usually that is a first name. The gold-plated angel and the cross stay as they are.

The engraving service is ordered in addition and sits in the basket as a separate item. Enter the name in the “order note at checkout”. We will clarify all the details afterwards, also by email or WhatsApp. If the wish cannot be realised, we will transfer the flat fee back to you.

The SilberVerse card with a verse offers more space, 15 × 10 cm in landscape format. You ask us for it and pay nothing for it.

What is written on the back of the medallion

On the back of the medallion it says “Ангелъ за трапезой незримо предстой”. Translated, that means: “Angel, be invisibly present at the meal.”

This is a table custom. The line asks for an angel who is invisibly present while eating.

Two godparents, one gift

Give the set together and have the child’s name engraved. The spoon with its bow and the cross are already in the case, so all you have to do is choose the name.

Similar sets: Enamel, blackening and a set with an icon

The medallion set is also available with blue and red enamel and blackened. If you would like to add an image for veneration, the Orthodox set with folding icon shows a different angel image on the spoon.

Questions about the christening set with gold-plated guardian angel

Why do people give a silver spoon at a christening?
Behind the custom is the wish that the child will lack for nothing. Silver has long stood for that. The background is explained in our guide to the christening custom.

Is the cross gold-plated too?
No. Only the angel in the medallion is gold-plated. The cross stays silver.

Can I write the cord colour and the name in the same note?
Yes. Both belong in the “order note at checkout”, ideally on two lines: first the cord colour, then the engraving text.

How do I care for the set?
The gold-plated angel needs no special treatment; care for it as you would for silver. Lukewarm water, then a soft cloth. Never put it in the dishwasher.
