Material and craftsmanship

At the top of the handle sits the gold-plated Orthodox cross, surrounded by curved pink enamel lines. In the center is the silver guardian angel, depicted praying or protecting, and below that is a delicate sun motif with ornaments. The enamel is applied in several layers and fired at a high temperature — creating a durable, color-stable surface that will neither peel nor fade. The spoon belongs to the DoDo collection by ArgentA and is delivered in the signature DoDo gift box with a rainbow motif, white satin, and a pink ribbon.

Use and occasions

This spoon is intended for an Orthodox baptism — it is often a gift from the godmother, who uses it to express her responsibility for the child's spiritual well-being. It is also a popular gift for births in Orthodox families, often given by grandparents as a sign of passing on the faith. The guardian angel represents the belief that every person receives a personal protector at baptism who accompanies them through life. In Christian symbolism, pink is considered the color of love and security — traditionally chosen for girls, although this association is no longer mandatory today. You can find the matching variant in blue-gold for a boy.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

The back of the handle features an Orthodox embossing, which means a classic engraving is not possible on this spoon. As a personal touch, we offer a complimentary SilberVerse card in photo format (15×10 cm landscape) — individually designed to suit the occasion. Simply specify who it is for and who it is from when ordering, and we will design it for you.

Care

Clean the spoon by hand using warm water and a mild detergent, then pat dry with a soft cotton cloth. For light patina on the silver, a silver polishing cloth is sufficient. The gold plating and pink enamel do not tolerate aggressive cleaners or abrasive agents. Not dishwasher safe. Store the spoon in the included DoDo box to protect it from scratches and tarnishing.

Frequently asked questions

What do the symbols on the spoon mean?

The gold-plated cross represents salvation, and the guardian angel represents divine assistance during baptism. The pink enamel symbolizes love, compassion, and security.

Is this spoon also available for boys?

Yes, in blue-gold — the same shape, same symbolism, with blue instead of pink enamel accents.

Can the spoon be engraved?

Due to the Orthodox embossing on the back, engraving is not possible. As an alternative, we recommend our personally designed SilberVerse card.
