On the cup stands a boy in relief: bobble hat, buttoned jacket, trousers, and at his feet a rocking horse. The cup is polished smooth, there is no enamel and no gold plating. A handle with volutes and leaf tendrils completes it.

On the spoon, the same boy holds his rocking horse by the string. Below it lies a raised heart field in silver.

Polished and blackened: why the spoon does not shine everywhere

The recesses in the relief of the spoon are dark, antique-blackened. The blackening traces boy and horse sharply. That is why the spoon does not shine everywhere. It is design and not a flaw.

The smooth surfaces are polished to a high shine by hand and reflect beside the dark relief. The cup stays smooth and polished all around.

The saucer: approx. 11.7 cm in diameter

How big is the saucer? Its diameter is approx. 11.7 cm, and its weight is approx. 86 g. Small enough, then, to belong to the cup. A perfectly round hollow holds the cup, and two handles with volutes and leaf relief sit at the sides.

Seen without the cup, it is a small dessert plate. The smooth underside makes it a clean piece on the table even then.

Boy and girl: two sets for twins and siblings

There is a counterpart too: the girl set is built the same way, only its relief shows a different motif. Twins or siblings thus each get a set of their own. You will find a coat of arms instead of a relief in the prince set with blue coat of arms.

You can have all three pieces engraved, each with up to 20 characters. The text of the cup sits on its smooth outer surface, opposite the boy, that of the spoon on the back of the handle. Where it goes on the saucer, we discuss after your order.

Care of relief and polish

Rinse briefly with warm water, dry softly. With the silver polishing cloth, you rub only the polished surfaces, and you leave it away from the dark recesses of the spoon so that they stay dark.
