Material and Workmanship
The entire grasping ring is made of solid 925 sterling silver – no acrylic, no plastic. Attached to the ring is an organically shaped medallion with a wavy, cloud-like edge, depicting a sitting rabbit with long, upright ears in relief. A delicate silk ribbon at the top edge of the ring completes the picture. Crafted by the Russian silver manufacturer ArgentA from their tactile children's silver collection.
Use and Development
In the first weeks of life, the ring serves as a visual object – the polished surface captures light and reflects it with every movement. From approximately 2 to 3 months, the round, edgeless shape is well-suited for grasping: the ring can be enclosed with the entire fist. From approximately 4 to 6 months, when the first teeth emerge, the silver ring also serves as a teething aid: it can be pre-cooled briefly in the refrigerator before use (not in the freezer) – the cool metal relieves pressure on irritated gums. Silver is harder than soft silicone teethers, but offers a smooth, cooling surface. From approximately 6 months, babies increasingly explore the relief with their fingers – the rabbit's ears protrude noticeably and invite tracing. The rabbit itself is one of the oldest animal symbols and in many European cultures stands for fertility and new beginnings – as an animal of spring, when nature awakens and everything starts anew. Due to its connection to Easter, it is also suitable as an Easter gift.
Occasions and Target Groups
For a birth, the rabbit says: a successful beginning, growth, and the abundance of life. For a baptism, it is particularly suitable during Easter time, when new life and faith combine. It is equally suitable for girls and boys – a timeless, warm motif without a color code. For babies during the teething phase, the ring also offers practical use as a teething aid.
Care
Clean the ring and medallion regularly with warm water and mild dish soap, then dry with a soft cloth. If necessary, refresh the polished surface with a silver polishing cloth – the relief can be carefully cleaned with a soft toothbrush. Avoid contact with perfume, chlorinated water, sulfur-containing rubber, or aggressive cleaning agents. Store the rattle dry and protected from light in a soft cloth.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the rattle be engraved?
No. The medallion features a figurative relief and does not offer a smooth surface for engraving.
Can the rattle be used as a teething ring?
Yes, with a limitation: as a metal, silver is harder than soft silicone teething rings, but it offers a smooth, cooling surface. Pre-cooled from the refrigerator, the ring has a soothing effect on irritated gums.
What does the rabbit motif mean?
In many cultures, the rabbit stands for fertility, new beginnings, and spring – a symbol for a successful start in life.
