Material and Workmanship
The green glow on this frame is not a painted color — it is guilloché enamel. Beneath a crystal-clear enamel layer lies a delicate, uniform pattern, mechanically engraved into the brass with a rose engine before several thin layers of transparent enamel were applied and individually fired at around 800 °C. The result acts like a lens: The engraved pattern shimmers through the enamel and changes its intensity depending on the incidence of light — more subdued in the photo, more vibrant in real life. The frame itself is fully gilded, the inner window is fitted with real jeweler's glass, and a wooden inlay behind it provides stability. This combination of metal, enamel, and glass makes the frame a small, durable piece of jewelry for the home.
