Description
At the end of the handle of this 925 sterling silver children's spoon sits a teddy bear in a round, grained medallion with a beaded border – the same tranquil motif that features on the matching baby cup from the family. The spoon itself is kept simple and smooth so that the medallion on the handle receives all the attention – a small, lasting gift for a birth or baptism.
For a birth
Discover gifts for a birth
A teddy in a silver medallion as a first spoon – simple, warm, and intended for the early years.
To the collectionMotif and workmanship
The medallion at the end of the handle shows a sitting teddy bear, framed by a delicate beaded border – finely engraved and clearly recognizable, even when the spoon is held in the hand. The rest of the spoon remains deliberately simple: smooth, high-gloss polished silver without further decoration. It is crafted by Russkiye Samotsvety in St. Petersburg, a manufacturer with a long tradition in producing children's silverware. SilberKosmos carefully selects this piece from their collection.
Who will appreciate this gift
This spoon is a classic first silver piece for a birth, while for a baptism, the medallion motif is well-suited to a moment marked by closeness and protection. It is also a beautiful choice as a gift from godparents or grandparents who are looking for something lasting instead of a fleeting toy. The teddy bear is designed in a neutral style, making it equally suitable for little boys and girls.
Engraving and SilberVerse card
An engraving on the back of the handle is possible after review: we look at the piece beforehand – the easiest way is via the engraving service. The SilberVerse card is available free of charge on request, with or without engraving: you receive 3–4 lines of verse in the language you choose, on a photo card (15 × 10 cm) with a standard frame of your choice in black, white or silver – details can be found on our SilberVerse page.
Care
Hand washing is sufficient: a mild detergent and warm water clean the spoon reliably; it should not be put in the dishwasher. If the silver tarnishes, a soft silver polishing cloth will bring back the shine – when working on the medallion, it is best to be gentle to ensure the fine contours are preserved.
