The Blattgold necklace combines two openwork leaf shapes – one in silver, one in gold – into a small foliage that hangs loosely from the chain. Between the two leaves sits a diamond-shaped element with fine niello engraving: a small flower, drawn in dark lines, which are permanently and chemically-physically bonded to the silver. This niello technique is the same signature that also characterizes the cups and chalices of the Nielloa collection, transferred here in miniature form to a piece of jewelry. The gold-plated leaf contours create a warm contrast to the cool 925 sterling silver and make the leaf motif appear more three-dimensional.
