Material and workmanship

The four glasses each have a small handle and a gold-colored upper rim, below which a band of black niello ornamentation wraps around the body of the glass. The contrast of polished silver, gold, and black niello gives each glass its own appearance. The flat serving tray (163 x 137 mm, 5 mm high) features a matching niello ornament on its rim and serves as the stage for all four glasses – thus, the set appears as a cohesive object, not as four randomly assembled pieces.

Use and occasions

Each of the four glasses holds 35 milliliters and weighs approximately 44 grams – noticeably heavy for its compact size, with the handle providing a firm grip.
