Sterling Silver Niello Shot Glass Set, 7-Piece — Stopka with Tray

Six shot glasses and a matching tray made of polished 925 sterling silver, fully gold-plated on the inside, and decorated on the outside with a circumferential niello floral band. Each glass holds 30 ml and stands on a gold-plated base in the classic "stopka" shape. For a table where people drink with style, not from plastic cups.

Material and craftsmanship

The upper third of each glass features a wide niello band with stylized floral medallions, interspersed with polished silver surfaces and gold accents. A second, narrower niello band finishes the glass at the base. Niello is a dark silver-sulfur alloy that is hand-fused into engraved lines and bonds permanently with the silver—it does not fade, but becomes more contrasting with every polish. The internal gilding of the glasses and tray provides a warm golden hue when pouring. The set is crafted at the SevChern manufactory in Veliky Ustyug, a center of Russian niello silversmithing.

Usage and occasions

Six glasses cater to a full dinner party: an anniversary with friends, a company anniversary, or a family celebration where several generations toast. As a gift, the set is particularly suitable for discerning men—for a milestone birthday, retirement, or as a gift for business partners. It also makes for family silver that remains on the table for years as children grow up.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

Engraving is possible upon review—we will check together whether and where there is space on the glasses or tray. On request, we include a custom-designed, complimentary 15 × 10 cm SilberVerse card.

Care

Wash by hand with lukewarm water and mild dish soap; do not use silver dip baths, as they would damage the gilding. The niello surfaces do not require special care; they remain permanently dark on their own.

Frequently asked questions

What is traditionally drunk from these glasses?

Classically ice-cold vodka, but also fruit brandies, liqueurs, or fine gin. They are usually served with zakuski such as pickled cucumber, herring, or dark bread.

Why is the inside gold-plated?

Fine gold creates a warm contrast to the dark niello on the outside.

Can I order individual glasses if one gets damaged?

SevChern can produce individual replacements in the same line upon request. Contact us, and we will check availability with the manufactory.
