Niello is a millennia-old finishing technique: a black alloy is fired into fine, previously incised engravings, forming a chemical-physical bond with the silver — not a lacquer that could peel off. In contrast to the fully gilded sister variant of the same line, the silver remains visible here, allowing the hallmarks, polished surfaces, and cool silver sheen to shine without the distraction of a gold tone.
