Material and workmanship

All 24 pieces are made of 925 sterling silver and feature the relief design with niello pattern in the upper handle area, and over the entire decorated surface for the dinner knives. Niello is an ancient refining technique: a black alloy is burned into fine, previously incised engravings, forming a chemical-physical bond with the silver – not a lacquer that could peel off. The raised structure of the relief and the dark niello line complement each other: one gives depth to the surface, the other traces the contour. Over time and with regular polishing, this contrast deepens rather than fading. The hallmark on each piece confirms the authenticity of the 925 silver. The surface is food-safe and suitable for a set table.
