Description

Baroque in the true sense of the word: nothing is left empty, acanthus leaves, shells, and volutes entwine everywhere – and in the middle, a calm, oval field awaits your engraving. The "Barok" tea glass holder set features a Podstakannik made of 925 sterling silver with a densely decorated, closed body and a highly polished surface. It also comes with the "Barokko" teaspoon with an openwork, baroque-decorated stem crown and a diamond-cut crystal glass, all united in a velvet-lined premium case.

At a glance

  • Set contents: Podstakannik + diamond-cut crystal glass + "Barokko" teaspoon – 3-piece
  • Material: 925 sterling silver, highly polished (holder without blackening)
  • Total silver weight: approx. 127 g (holder approx. 105 g, spoon approx. 22 g)
  • Holder dimensions: approx. 72 × 72 mm square, height approx. 95 mm, diameter approx. 72 mm
  • Spoon dimensions: length approx. 125 mm
  • "Chayny" crystal glass: approx. 200 ml, approx. 65 × 100 mm, diamond cut
  • Case dimensions: approx. 132 × 132 × 165 mm, velvet-lined, navy blue

Material and workmanship

Unlike the open column holders of the other coat of arms sets, the "Barok" holder has a closed construction: dense acanthus decorations all around, an oval coat of arms medallion with a pearl rim and shell topping, bell-shaped base. The entire surface is highly polished, the holder itself has no blackening. The accompanying "Barokko" teaspoon is a unique design: an openwork baroque stem crown with acanthus volutes and fine latticework, a twisted stem with flourishes, and a highly polished bowl. The fine indentations of the stem crown are antiqued – this makes the filigree pattern plastically visible, while the rest of the spoon remains polished. The "Chayny" diamond-cut crystal glass with a cut geometric pattern is a replaceable consumable item and can be replaced if needed. The blackening on the spoon is a superficial patination and differs technically from niello, the sulfur-silver inlay technique of the SevChern manufactory. We also offer the "Barok" holder as a solo variant with a tea glass, but without a spoon and case.

Use and occasions

The baroque style stands for movement and opulence instead of strictness – curved volutes instead of straight lines, dense decoration instead of sober classicism. On this holder, this is evident in acanthus leaves that grow up the body like plants, and a shell as a topping above the coat of arms medallion. The set is suitable as a Father's Day gift with a family monogram, as a grandfather's gift in Russian-German families with heirloom character, as a business gift for a director, board member, or long-serving employee for an anniversary, as well as a godfather or godmother gift for confirmation or graduation. It also fits well as a wedding gift with initials and date, for a milestone birthday, retirement, or promotion, and for lovers of the baroque style, classical interior design, and magnificent table culture – suitable for all genders. Engraving and SilberVerse Card

The oval medallion on the holder is the main stage for your engraving: initials in classic script or as an intertwined monogram, a family crest or company logo as a line drawing, a date, or a short motto of a maximum of three to four words. Line drawings work best; very fine photorealism is not practical on this surface. Hand-chiseled engraving by a silversmith best suits the rich baroque style; for a beautiful execution, you should allow about one to two weeks' lead time. With every engraving, we include a SilberVerse card measuring 15 × 10 cm if desired – digitally designed, with a personal dedication, currently at no extra charge.

Care

The holder itself has no blackening; only the fine indentations of the acanthus decorations on the Barokko spoon are antiqued. Clean the holder and spoon by hand only with warm water, mild detergent, and a soft cloth – never in the dishwasher. If the polished surfaces tarnish slightly, a soft silver polishing cloth without abrasive will restore the mirror shine. For the spoon: never rub away the blackening in the fine indentations of the stem crown with silver polish. Wipe dry after use and store in the case, which protects against air contact and delays tarnishing. After a new engraving, it is recommended to wait a few days before cleaning the engraved area. The diamond-cut glass is dishwasher-safe on a short gentle cycle, but hand washing is gentler and keeps it crystal clear.

Frequently asked questions
