Tea strainer 925 silver enamel and gold plating bee

A bee, in mid-approach to a small white blossom, surrounded by golden tendrils on a deep green enamel background, which is structured like scales or petals in fine semicircles – this is how the rim of this spoon strainer presents itself. The inside is gilded and works like any good tea strainer: finely perforated, with a secure stand over the cup. A small natural picture in silver that reappears every morning.

Material and processing

The basket of the tea strainer is made of 925 sterling silver and is completely gilded on the inside. The wide, oval rim features a green enamel surface with a fine scale pattern of golden semicircles – a structure reminiscent of petals or fish scales, giving the strainer its calm, even texture. At the transition to the handle is the actual image: a small bee with light blue-transparent wings approaching a white blossom with a yellow center. Fine golden tendrils surround the scene. The oval handle end is smoothly gilded and forms a calm counterpoint to the ornate rim. The spoon shape with a deep, finely perforated strainer is suitable for loose tea of any grain size.

Use and occasions

The bee motif suits anyone who likes nature motifs on their table without being intrusive. As a gift, this tea strainer is suitable for the birthday of a tea lover, as a small token of appreciation for Mother's Day, or as an addition to an existing silver or porcelain service. It is also an unusual but accurate choice as a housewarming gift or as a thank you for an invitation – practical in use and with a motif that invites conversation.

Care

Hand wash with warm water and mild dish soap – not dishwasher safe, as dishwasher tablets and heat can damage the gilding and enamel surface. After rinsing, pat dry with a soft cloth; do not use abrasive sponges or polishes on the enamel. Store dry and protected from light in the gift box.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the bee motif mean?

The bee traditionally stands for diligence, community spirit, and the sweet reward of patient work – a motif that suits a gift that will be used daily for years, rather than just having a one-time effect.

Is the gilding suitable for everyday use?

Yes, as long as you hand wash the tea strainer instead of putting it in the dishwasher. The gilding is on solid 925 silver and will last with careful handling.

Which teapots and cups is the strainer suitable for?

With a length of approx. 12 cm, the spoon strainer rests comfortably on most standard teacups and teapot openings and is suitable for all types of loose tea, from black tea to herbal tea.
