The cup carries rocaille cartouches with a stag's head and hunting scenes. The upper handle of the spoon also carries a cartouche, followed by an oval bowl.
The cast setting is polished by hand, on the foot as well as on the handle. The blackened finish sets off the stag's coat and antlers in a dark tone; it is not paint.
