Silver tea cup with dragonfly: the bowl in its case
A single cup lies in the case, without saucer and without spoon. The porcelain is a wide, gently waved bowl with a fluted rim. The handle is part of the silver setting.
The bowl is made of bone china from the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory in St. Petersburg; the setting is made by ArgentA. Libellula is Latin for dragonfly; at the manufacturer, the line is simply called Dragonfly.
Dragonfly, scrollwork and three small feet
A sculpted dragonfly sits at the front in the scrollwork that encloses the bowl. The setting is openwork, and the white porcelain shimmers through between the tendrils. Three small feet carry the cup.
The setting is made by art casting and polished by hand, including the three small feet. The silver looks bright; only the depths of the scrollwork are set off slightly darker, without lacquer.
