Material and Workmanship

The base material is 925 sterling silver, highly polished. Along all four edges, a border of acanthus leaves, shell motifs, and volutes runs, classic Empire ornamentation, as found on silverware and writing instruments in 19th-century Russian style. In the center of the exterior is an oval cartouche medallion, the oval itself is deliberately left blank. This is no coincidence, but the classic stage for a personal engraving, a monogram, an initial, or a small coat of arms. The gilding is engraved and inlaid: the ornamental lines were first engraved into the silver and then filled with gold, no spraying, no foil, no galvanic layer. The case is manufactured at the Mstera manufactory in the Russian Vladimir region, a traditional center for goldsmithing. Each piece bears its own manufacturer's mark in addition to the 925 silver hallmark.

With dimensions of 95 x 60 x 5 mm and weighing approximately 84 grams, the Aurea feels pleasantly weighty in the hand and holds 10 to 15 standard business cards, enough for everyday business use. Care

Pure silver tarnishes over time with everyday use, a natural reaction with sulfur compounds from the air. With the Aurea, this is particularly noticeable on the mirror-polished silver surface between the gold ornaments, while the gold lines themselves remain bright and unchanged, as gold is chemically much nobler than silver. With a soft silver polishing cloth, the original shine can be restored in one to two minutes without damaging the gold inlay. Store dry, preferably in the provided gift case. No dishwasher, no abrasive sponge, no direct contact with perfume or skin cream.

The gilding is engraved and inlaid: the ornamental lines were first engraved into the silver, then filled with gold. This is not a foil or a galvanic layer that could peel off.
