Material and workmanship

The bowl of this serving spoon features the Astra ornament as a golden floral motif on the edge of a pearlescent white field—finely crafted tendrils and leaves that wrap around the spoon head. On the handle, the theme is repeated in a medallion with a black niello inlay on a light background, the typical play of contrasts for this collection. As a guiding motif, the aster stands for grace and endurance—a symbol that fits well with a piece passed around at every meal. Crafted in the Russian silversmithing tradition.

Usage and occasions

With a length of 260 mm and a wide bowl of 57 mm, this serving spoon reaches deep into any serving bowl and is suitable for serving vegetables, salads, rice dishes, or warm sides directly from the bowl or platter. Compared to the serving spoon of the same collection (271 mm), it is somewhat more compact and therefore more universally applicable—ideal for medium-sized bowls at family dinners as well as for the festive table at weddings or anniversaries.
