Material and craftsmanship

The dessert fork is made of 925 sterling silver and is fully gold-plated—tines and handle consistently display the warm gold tone. On the fork head sits a small shield-shaped field with the embedded Scorpio symbol, outlined in gold against a light background. At the opposite end of the handle is an oval niello panel with a floral ornament: a dark metal alloy that is fused into fine depressions and subsequently permanently bonded to the silver. This technique is called niello—popularly known as "ink in silver"—and has been used for about 3,000 years. It is neither a lacquer nor a print, but a chemical-physical bond with the silver that remains intact even with daily use. Over time and with regular polishing, the contrast between the dark niello and the bright gold even deepens. As a curated piece from our selection of Russian silversmithing, this dessert fork impresses with a quality you can feel in your hand.

Use and occasions

This dessert fork is intended for the festive table—for dessert after a special meal, on holidays, or as an addition to an existing collection of silverware. As a gift, it is particularly suitable for people with birthdays between October 23rd and November 21st: a present that goes beyond the ordinary because it incorporates their zodiac sign. This piece is also suitable for an anniversary, the wedding of a Scorpio couple, or as a thoughtful gesture for someone with a sense of depth, intensity, and the ability to reinvent themselves. Those looking to supplement an existing collection of zodiac cutlery will find in this fork a piece that pairs well with other silverware from our selection.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

The Scorpio symbol and the niello ornament are factory-fitted and are not part of a subsequent engraving. This piece cannot be engraved; as a personal addition, we offer a free SilberVerse card. Regardless, we can include a personal SilberVerse card in 15 × 10 cm photo format (landscape) upon request—individually designed, tailored to the occasion, and free of charge. Each card is unique and also serves as a standalone addition without any engraving.

Care

The gold-plated surface and the niello ornament are best cared for with a soft, dry cloth. Rinse by hand after use and dry carefully—this preserves the contrast between gold and dark niello for years. Do not use silver polish on the niello panel, as it can attack the fused alloy; for the remaining gold-plated surfaces, a mild polishing cloth is sufficient. Stored dry and within reach, this dessert fork will remain a reliable part of your silverware.
