Partly gilded tea glass holder set: what is in the set

Four parts belong together: the silver holder (925), the tea glass, the silver spoon “Imperator” (925) and the gift box. ArgentA supplies the holder. Only the relief with George is gilded; the spoon stays silver. The holder is the same as in the single piece Saint George with a gilded relief.

George in gold, the wreath in silver: how the holder is built

The round medallion sits at the front of the holder, surrounded by a beaded border and a laurel wreath, with a shell above and a bow below. In it, George rides over the dragon with his lance lowered. Around it run a braided band, round-arched openings, a tendril band and slits.

Holder and spoon are polished to a high shine by hand, and only the relief carries gold; the recesses in the wreath stay dark. The handle is a bow made of a flat bar with a row of beads. The spoon has a flat oval head, smooth inside, with a wavy band along the edge. A small shell adorns the tip, and at the base of the neck stand two volutes with rows of dots.

The head of the spoon and the smooth base of the holder (up to 20 characters fit here) take an engraving. The medallion with the gilded relief stays untouched.

Partly gilded or silver: the George family at a glance

The George family comes in four versions. Saint George in silver is the single holder with a silver relief, while the partly gilded single holder carries gold on the relief. The two sets each come with the spoon, one with a silver relief, this one with gold.

Care: silver, patina and gilding

For holder and spoon, a soft cloth and lukewarm water are enough. Neither belongs in the dishwasher. After drying, they go to a dry place. Over time, silver tarnishes. You can polish the spoon with a silver polishing cloth; on the holder, stay gentle in the recesses.

Wipe the gilded relief very gently with a soft cloth. The patina in the wreath is neither applied lacquer nor paint, and it does not disappear in everyday use. You may carefully re-polish the raised silver areas. For washing, take the glass out of the holder first.
