Coffee and tea cups 925 silver Quadrille 2-piece set

Two cups, one pair. The Quadrille set in 925 sterling silver with gold plating and niello ornamentation is intended as a gift for two people who share a ritual — morning tea, afternoon coffee, a moment together. The name "Quadrille" refers to a partner dance, and the set embodies this imagery: both cups share the same shape, the same gilding, and the same niello ornamentation frame, yet feature two different, complementary motifs within their medallions. 155 ml per cup, approx. 166 g per cup — for two discerning tea drinkers.

Material and craftsmanship

Both cups in the Quadrille set are identical in form, material, and gilding scheme: the rim, handle, base, and the background of the central image medallion feature a warm gold tone, framed by a dark black niello band. However, the centers of the two cups intentionally differ: one bears a stylized bird motif, while the other shows two figures dancing in traditional costume. Both medallions are hand-engraved and filled with niello, allowing them to stand out clearly from the gold-plated background. This combination of a shared form and distinct motifs makes the set more than just two identical cups — it is a pair that belongs together without being identical. The slender, tall shape of the cups differs from the broader, shallower models in our range: with a height of 98 mm and a diameter of 76 mm, they stand upright and prominent on the table.

Use and occasions

A cup set for two is conceptually a different gift than a single cup — it honors not just one person, but the bond between two people. With a capacity of 155 ml each, both cups are designed for a full serving of coffee or tea, not just a quick espresso. As a wedding gift, this set serves as an alternative to classic cutlery, and is equally suitable for silver anniversaries, golden weddings, or as an anniversary gift for couples who wish to frame their shared ritual with a special object. The included gift box makes the set ready to be given immediately.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

Upon request, we can engrave a dedication on one or both cups — initials, a date, or a short phrase. Additionally, we can include a personal SilberVerse card in photo format (15 × 10 cm) — individually designed, tailored to the occasion, and free of charge.

Care

Hand-wash gilded silver — no dishwasher, no silver dip. A soft microfiber cloth is sufficient for daily cleaning. Store in a dry place, preferably separately to avoid scratches between the two cups. The gift box is also suitable for permanent storage.

Frequently asked questions

Are both cups in the Quadrille set identical?
The shape, material, and gold plating are the same for both cups, but the central image medallion intentionally differs: one cup features a stylized bird motif, the other shows two figures dancing in traditional costume. Together they form a pair, true to the name "Quadrille".

Are both cups in a single box?
Yes. The set is delivered in a shared gift box, ready for gifting, with no additional packaging required.

Is the gold plating durable with regular use?
With careful maintenance — no dishwasher, no silver dip, use of a soft cloth — the gold plating on 925 sterling silver remains beautiful for many years. Occasional gentle polishing with a gold polishing cloth will maintain its luster.
