Material and workmanship

The milk jug is made of 925 sterling silver, with a completely gold-plated interior. Flowing hop tendrils run along the outer wall – soft leaves, intertwined tendrils and transitions accented with gold. The dark contours are created by niello: an alloy of silver, copper, lead and sulfur, which is applied to engraved depressions, fired and polished. The depth of the engraving is palpable and appears almost in relief – a sign of the care with which each line was etched. The combination of dark niello, bright silver and warm gilding creates a contrast that reveals new details upon closer inspection.

Use and occasions

With a capacity of around 250 ml, the jug is designed for tea and coffee services. It is part of a complete coffee and tea service set that can be individually assembled – whether for two, four or six people. Each element of the Hopfen collection bears the same niello pattern and thus matches cups, saucers, coffee pot and sugar bowl from the same line. The jug is suitable for classic coffee ceremonies as well as for elegant tea moments, as an addition for collectors of historical silver pieces and as a luxurious gift for special occasions such as anniversaries or weddings.

Care

Hand wash only, dry with soft cloths, do not use abrasive cleaners. Niello and gilding require gentle cleaning to ensure that the contrasts and gold lustre are permanently preserved. No dishwasher, no silver dip.
