What makes this Cancer zodiac set special
The teaspoon belongs with the cup; the spoon and fork with the cake. On both spoons, the silver bowl features the same gold-plated image—a crab with raised claws, slightly smaller on the teaspoon. Below the tines of the fork sits a shield with the Cancer symbol. Golden rims, gold-plated handles, and niello blossoms unite the pieces.
Cancer: Water sign in midsummer
As a water sign, Cancer represents all those born between June 22 and July 22. Legend has it that Hera sent the crab to fight Heracles during his battle against the Hydra.
Occasions for the set
Those celebrating in midsummer will receive it as a birthday gift, often for the garden coffee table. Placed under the tree, it is a thoughtful gesture with a personal touch, and further Cancer pieces can be added later.
Niello art from Veliky Ustyug
Niello art in Veliky Ustyug has been documented since 1683. Every pattern is created by hand at SevChern, with the black inlay fusing permanently with the silver.
Frequently asked questions about the Cancer set
Which sign applies to July 4th?
Cancer; the zodiac defines this period as between June 22 and July 22.
Do the two spoons in the Cancer set match visually?
Yes: same image (crab with raised claws), same golden rim, same niello blossom on the handle.
Is the Cancer cutlery available smaller, as a two-piece set?
Yes, as Cancer dessert cutlery with a spoon and fork; the dessert spoon, dessert fork, and teaspoon are also available individually.
Can a dedication be engraved on the Cancer set?
No, there is no blank space on the cutlery for an engraving. Instead, you will receive a free SilberVerse card for your dedication.
What should I consider for the care of the Cancer set?
Wash by hand, dry immediately, never use the dishwasher, and do not use silver polish baths. The niello guide explains why.
If you prefer something smaller, choose the Cancer dessert cutlery; you can find more in dessert cutlery.
