Coffee service Hopfen – 925 silver and gold plating, set with sugar bowl

The Hopfen coffee service in 925 sterling silver is more than just an elegant set for two — it is a piece of living art history. The floral hop motifs, the fine niello blackening, and the warm gilded accents date back to a 1969 design by Elisaveta Fedorovna Tropina, Honored Artist of Russia, and remain among the most characterful works of Russian metal art to this day.

Material and craftsmanship

Each piece in this set is crafted from 925 sterling silver: after the form is drawn, it undergoes engraving, the application of niello, polishing, and final partial gilding. The niello technique is one of the most demanding forms of metal finishing — its deep black structure is created by a dark alloy that is inserted into fine engravings and fired. It bonds chemically and physically with the silver, does not fade, and gains contrast during polishing. The Hopfen collection shows how niello lends its own depth to the gilding and the silver.

Usage and occasions

This coffee service is suitable for those who appreciate art and want to experience tradition. It is perfect for:

• Weddings and anniversaries — as a symbol of appreciation and timeless elegance
• Business occasions — as a representative gift for important business partners
• Family heirlooms — for anyone wishing to pass on a piece of history

Engraving and SilberVerse card

Engraving is only possible after approval by the manufacture — due to the existing niello and gold finish, engravings on the finished product are limited. We will gladly clarify the options upon request. Upon request, your gift can also include a poetic SilberVerse card in 15 × 10 cm photo format — a personal greeting that underscores the significance of this set, designed individually for you free of charge.

Care

We recommend cleaning by hand with mild dish soap and a soft cloth. You should avoid aggressive cleaners or the dishwasher so that the niello and gilding retain their shine for a long time.
