The rim, foot, interior and the handle with its volute are gold-plated. Its hop pattern is based on the design of 1969. A gift box is included. The cup stands on a stem and round foot and opens out to a slightly flared rim. It is taller and holds more than the footed espresso cup. The handle sweeps out widely and curls into a volute at its lower joint.

Handle with a volute, band of hop leaves

The narrow band of hop leaves is engraved by hand; the volute on the handle is part of the form.

Niello forms a dark ground behind the leaves. The image lives from contrast: a black band, bright silver, golden leaf blossoms and a golden rim.

Hop bines grow upwards in twists and stay in motion as they do. You can see in this an image of years spent together, in which you grow.

A quick wash by hand is enough for this cup, followed by a soft cloth. The gold plating does not tolerate polishing; it is thin. We do not recommend the dishwasher.
