Footed Espresso Cup in 925 Silver, Gold-Plated with Niello, 60 ml — Hop

A cup on a tall foot: the espresso that takes its time. This silver footed espresso cup holds approx. 60 ml and, beneath a narrow niello band with hop leaves, has a large smooth body. The rim, foot, handle and interior are gold-plated. The gift box is included, and the pattern is based on a design of 1969. It is suitable as a gift for a birthday, Christmas or a housewarming.

Silver footed espresso cup: polished smooth, with a golden rim

The cup opens conically towards the top. Below it sits a short stem with a bulge on a round, gold-plated foot. The handle is slender and smoothly curved, entirely in gold.

Below the narrow band the body remains smooth and bright. According to the manufacturer, the cup holds the status of recognised artistic value. More cups are shown among the silver coffee and tea cups.

The narrow band: hop leaves on niello

On the band, leaves and cones twine against a dark ground, and the large leaf blossoms are inlaid in gold. Engraving is followed by polishing, which makes the large body smooth and bright.

The black is niello. There is no need to explain it technically; the result says enough: fired in instead of applied, and firmly bonded to the silver.

Hop winds its way upwards along a support. As an interpretation, this recalls two people who give each other support, even if each drinks their espresso alone.

The smooth body: the calmest surface of the line

Below the band there is a large smooth surface that draws the eye. For a request in this spot, we ask the manufacturer in advance.

Care: wash by hand, no polishing

After the espresso, wash the cup by hand in lukewarm washing-up water, then dry it gently. The gold inside and on the foot is thin and is not polished. Better not put it in the dishwasher.

Yes. Silver conducts heat very well, so with hot espresso the wall quickly becomes warm to hot. That is why you should hold the cup by the handle.

Is the cup also suitable for mocha?
Yes, the small size suits espresso and mocha.

Does a saucer come with it?
No, the cup comes on its own. We are happy to clarify with you in advance which saucer suits it. Two cups with saucers are included in the coffee service with footed cups and saucers.

How does it differ from the 80 ml cup?
The footed cup with 80 ml is taller, holds more and has a handle with a volute. This cup has a slender, smooth handle.
