Coffee service Hopfen 925 silver – luxury gift set for 2 people

A coffee service that tells more than just a story of coffee enjoyment: this seven-piece set in 925 sterling silver features characteristic hop leaves, deep black niello inlay, and the warmly glowing gilding of a design created in 1969 by the distinguished artist Elisaveta Fedorovna Tropina. She combined classical niello technique with a modern design language, creating a collection that remains one of the most distinctive motifs in Russian silver art to this day.

Material and workmanship

Each piece in this set undergoes several production steps: the silver body is drawn from 925 sterling silver, finely engraved, and filled with a black niello inlay, which is then fused, ground flush, and polished – like ink in silver. Subsequently, the surface is polished and partially gilded so that the hop motifs emerge as warm accents from the dark niello background. Niello is not a coating but a firmly fused inlay — it does not loosen, it does not peel off, and with each polishing, the contrast between the dark ornament and the gleaming silver deepens further.

Usage and occasions

This coffee service is intended for special moments for two — for the first coffee of the morning, the conclusion of a festive evening, or a quiet gathering. The pot holds the coffee, sugar and milk find their place in matching vessels, and the cups feel pleasant in the hand. As a gift, it is suitable for:

• Weddings and anniversaries — a set that accompanies a shared ritual
• Corporate anniversaries and business occasions — as a prestigious gift with historical background
• Milestone birthdays — for people who appreciate art and craftsmanship
• As a future heirloom — for families who wish to pass on a high-quality piece

Engraving and SilberVerse card

Individual engraving is generally possible, but must be reviewed by the manufactory — due to the niello and gilding, engravings on the finished piece are limited. We will check this beforehand and are happy to clarify the options, especially for production directly at the manufacturer. Upon request, we can also supplement the set with a personal SilberVerse card in 15 × 10 cm photo format — individually designed, free of charge, and unique for every occasion.

Care

Clean the set by hand using mild detergent and a soft cloth. You should avoid aggressive cleaners or the dishwasher so that the niello and gilding retain their shine in the long term. It is best to keep the pieces in the supplied gift box.
