This baby rattle made of 925 sterling silver is the only kinetic rattle in the range: The rattle head consists of a polished silver ball freely rotatable in a frame of concentric rings. The stem below is completely smooth and teardrop-shaped – ideal for a personal engraving. A rattle that moves, like life, which is just beginning.

Material and Craftsmanship

The ball in the center is movably mounted in two to three concentric rings and can rotate freely. Each element – ball, rings, and stem – is individually polished. Inside the ball, small silver beads create a rattle that changes with the rotation. Crafted by the Italian silver manufacturer Zaramella Argenti from Padova.

Usage and Development

From birth, the rattle serves as a grasping and hearing object with three sensory levels: the sound of the silver beads, the rotation of the ball in the frame, and the different gripping elements of ball, rings, and stem. From about 3 to 4 months, babies begin to shake the rattle themselves – the rotatable ball rewards every movement with a visible reaction, an important impulse for the budding understanding of cause and effect. The movable design invites curiosity: Little fingers can grasp the rings, nudge the ball, and watch it spin – a symbol of joy of discovery and the first explorations of the world.

Care

Clean the baby rattle after use with warm water and mild dish soap, dry with a soft cloth. Make sure to also clean the contact points between the ball and rings, as moisture can collect there. For light patina, a silver polishing cloth is sufficient. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or abrasive cleaners, not dishwasher safe. The included gift box is suitable for storage.
