The case contains five pieces: the pot with lid, two cups and two teaspoons. Sugar bowl, milk jug and saucers are not included. Put together as a set, it is laid for two.

The white pot has a long, straight porcelain spout. A small bird figure sits at the top of the volute handle, and the foot is ribbed. The pheasant presides over the lid as a silver finial.

Pot, cups and lid are bone china; it was made by the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory in St. Petersburg and is set by ArgentA.

Hunting scenes from the pot to the spoon handle

On the pot, rocaille cartouches frame hunting scenes with game, birds and a hunting dog. At the front, the cups show a roaring stag with antlers in the cartouche, and at the side birds appear in a hunting scene. The teaspoons end in a bird’s head, and their handles carry tendril work.

Pheasant, cartouches and handles are made by art casting, and finally every silver part is polished by hand.

On cup and pot, the blackened finish darkens rocaille, fur and plumage in the recesses. It is not lacquer.
