Key and Horseshoe
The key stands for the new home, the horseshoe around it for the luck that is meant to live there. Both are made of silver; the key lies free within the arch, and the grapevines below are filled with niello. Grapes have long been a sign of abundance at the table.
A Small Picture for the Hallway
Around 15 centimeters square, barely larger than a saucer: the picture looks loveliest on the chest of drawers in the entrance, beside the key bowl, or on a shelf. It is a fine cabinet piece and not a large wall picture.
When It Fits
For a move, a topping-out party, a house handover or a housewarming, it brings the old custom of carrying luck across the threshold. If you would rather wish abundance than a fresh start, take a look at the Horn of Plenty wall picture.
Care
Dust dry, no silver paste, no home remedies. The article Nielloa explained tells you why.
