Material and craftsmanship

The stylized floral pattern of the Astra Black line is created by engraving the gold-plated 925 sterling silver, which is then filled with black niello—a traditional technique in which a dark silver alloy is melted into fine engraved lines. This creates the characteristic contrast between the warm gold and the dark ornament at the base of the bowl and on the lower handle. The spoon is crafted by a Russian silversmith workshop following the Veliky Ustyug niello tradition.

Usage and occasions

The dessert spoon is suitable for desserts, cakes, and pastries, making it an ideal gift for milestone birthdays, corporate anniversaries, or a high-quality souvenir for silverware collectors. It also serves as an excellent addition to an existing Astra set or as a standalone piece for special occasions.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

Beyond the niello pattern, additional personalized engraving is possible on the back of the handle upon review—a name, date, or short dedication. We will coordinate the exact area with you individually. Upon request, we can also include a personal SilberVerse card in a 15 x 10 cm photo format—individually designed, tailored to the occasion, and free of charge.

Care

Clean the spoon exclusively by hand using a soft, non-abrasive cloth. You should avoid aggressive cleaners. A special silver polishing cloth is particularly suitable for the niello pattern area to maintain the contrast in the long term.
