A three-piece coffee cup set made of porcelain and 925 sterling silver with hand-engraved niello and gilding — the Hops collection combines fine porcelain from the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory in St. Petersburg with silversmithing from Veliky Ustyug. The Hops design has been considered one of the well-known silver patterns in the Russian manufacturing tradition since 1969.

Material and workmanship
Each of the three pieces features its own material: the coffee cup is made of fine porcelain from the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory in St. Petersburg and sits in a 925 sterling silver holder with gilded accents. The saucer is made entirely of 925 sterling silver with a deep niello relief in the Hops pattern. The small coffee spoon bears the same motif as a hand-engraved embellishment. Niello is a dark compound that is melted into the engraved lines and then remains permanently bonded to the silver — not a lacquer or coating. The warm gilding adds extra accents against the bright silver and the deep black niello, so that all three parts appear as an ensemble despite their different materials.
Usage and occasions
This set is as suitable for morning coffee as it is for entertaining a guest. As a gift, it is perfect for weddings, anniversaries, or for anyone who already has a collection of silver tableware and would like to add another piece. Those who wish can later combine the set with a matching teapot, sugar bowl, or milk jug from the same Hops collection.
Engraving and SilberVerse card
The pieces are suitable for engraving to varying degrees: the porcelain cup itself cannot be engraved. The silver holder of the cup can only be engraved to a limited extent, as the niello and gilding limit the available space — we can clarify the feasibility of this individually. The silver saucer is well suited for engraving, for example with initials or a short date. The coffee spoon cannot be engraved due to the continuous niello and gold embellishment. Upon request, we can include a personal SilberVerse card in photo format (15 × 10 cm landscape) — individually designed and free of charge.
Care
Silver, niello, and gilding should be cleaned exclusively by hand, preferably with a soft silver polishing cloth. Do not use a dishwasher, as it can damage the gilding and the niello surface. The porcelain cup can be washed separately by hand.

No, the cup itself is made of porcelain and cannot be engraved. An engraving is possible on the silver saucer.
Can the silver holder of the cup be engraved?
Only to a limited extent: niello and gilding limit the free space, so we check this individually before ordering.
Can the coffee spoon be engraved?
No, due to the continuous niello embellishment and gilding, no additional engraving is possible on the spoon.
