3-Piece Coffee Set in 925 Silver with Porcelain Cup — Hop Place Setting

A place setting to start with: one more every year. This 3-piece silver coffee set consists of a cup with a porcelain insert, a saucer and a spoon, with niello and gilding. The cup holds approx. 50 ml. The pattern goes back to a design from 1969. The whole place setting comes in the gift box, a gift for a wedding anniversary, a birthday or Christmas.

Three parts make up the place setting: the cup with a white porcelain insert in a silver holder, the saucer with a niello band and a wide gold rim, and a gold-plated spoon. The cup is demitasse size, and its porcelain comes from the Imperial Porcelain Factory in St Petersburg.

Porcelain in silver, niello on gold: how the place setting is built

Cup, saucer and spoon carry the same hand-engraved design of leaves and golden cones.

Niello is ink in silver. It fills the lines with a deep black, against which the porcelain and the gold stand out especially brightly.

Hop only grows upwards when something supports it. On a place setting that later becomes a pair, this fits as an image of two people growing together.

For a wedding anniversary: one place setting per year

For the first wedding anniversary you give one place setting, for the second the next one joins it. One more place setting each year: this is how a service grows over time and makes the shared years visible.

For a birthday or at Christmas, it is also a complete small gift on its own.

Extending the line: the second place setting, then pot and sugar bowl

You can get a second place setting in the set with two place settings. After that, you add the coffee pot, sugar bowl and milk jug piece by piece. You do not have to buy any of it all at once.

Engraving after checking: holder, saucer, spoon

Part by part: for the silver holder of the cup, the smooth centre of the saucer and the spoon, the manufacturer clarifies what can be done. The porcelain carries no engraving.

Care: all three parts by hand

Wash all three parts by hand in lukewarm water and dry them with a soft cloth. The gold is thin, so do not polish it. We advise against the dishwasher.
