Silver Baby Rattle 925 Dumbbell — Smooth Discs, Engravable

Two smooth discs with a slim grip between them that curves gently inwards towards the middle: this dumbbell rattle in 925 sterling silver does without any ornament. The discs are softly domed, their rim is stepped, and in the centre of both discs there is room for a name, a date or initials. It was made by the Italian workshop Zaramella Argenti.

Silver Dumbbell Rattle: Plain Discs, Slim Grip

The shape is called a dumbbell because it recalls the piece of sports equipment: a grip with a disc at each end. Here the discs are polished smooth, without beads and without relief; only a stepped rim frames them. If you like to see in the shape two ends held together by a grip, you may take that as an interpretation; it is not a feature.

The rattle is approx. 10 cm long and weighs approx. 28 g; every piece differs slightly in its silver weight.

Dumbbell Baby Rattle with Engraving: Room on the Discs

Because the discs carry nothing but their polish, the free surface is available for lettering. The engraving goes in the centre of the disc, on both sides of the dumbbell: a name, a date or initials, up to approx. 20 characters. How much fits in each individual case is something we check against the wording. How much lettering actually fits depends on the font size; we clarify the wording and the length with you.

You can order the rattle and the engraving service fee together; the wording is agreed with you afterwards, and you do not need to ask anything beforehand. If the engraving cannot be done on the piece or the fee does not cover the length, we refund it. With engraving, the delivery time increases by 1 to 3 working days. Goods with an individual engraving are excluded from the right of withdrawal, so a last look at the name and date is worthwhile before you send off your order.

More words than fit on a disc? That is what the SilberVerse card is for, free on request. Created with the help of AI from your details, it is a verse of three to four lines, in another language if you like. The photo card is printed in landscape format at 15 × 10 cm; you choose the standard frame in silver, white or black.

Smooth, with a Ring of Beads or with a Beaded Rim: the Sister Rattles Compared

The same basic shape comes in four versions. The smooth one here leaves the lettering in peace. The dumbbell with a ring of beads frames a flat central field with fine beads, while the dumbbell with a beaded rim has larger beads on the rim of domed discs; both can be engraved as well. On the teddy bear, a relief fills the discs, and it stays without engraving.

For a Christening, for a Birth, for Godparents and Grandparents

Godparents like to give the dumbbell with the date of the christening, grandparents with their grandchild’s first name, parents for a birth with the date of birth. If you are invited to a baby shower and do not yet know the name, you can take it along unengraved. More ideas for godparents are waiting among the gifts from godparents.

Keeping the Shine: Caring for Smooth Surfaces

Smooth surfaces show every fingerprint. A soft cloth removes it, and a silver polishing cloth helps with tarnish. Now and then lukewarm water with a mild washing-up liquid is fine, then rub dry; the rattle does not belong in the dishwasher.
