Silver Baby Rattle 925 Elephant — Smooth Handle, Engravable

A small elephant with large ears and a curved trunk stands on a smooth, polished handle: this baby rattle in 925 sterling silver carries the lucky animal as a freely modelled figure, and the handle below stays free for a name. Behind it is Zaramella Argenti, the Italian silver workshop.

Silver Elephant Baby Rattle: Large Ears, Curved Trunk

The elephant is modelled all round as a figure, not as a flat relief. Its body arches into a rounded back, the large ears lie against the head, the trunk curves forwards, and at the bottom the feet stand on the handle. Both sides are mirror images of each other; there is no display side, so the rattle sits equally well in the hand whichever way it is turned.

In many cultures the elephant is regarded as a lucky animal and stands for strength, a good memory and the cohesion of the herd. Whether you want to read it that way for a newborn is up to you; as an interpretation, the motif certainly lends itself to it.

At approx. 12 cm in length, the elephant weighs approx. 22 g; every piece varies minimally in its silver weight. A small eyelet sits below the figure.

Elephant Handle Rattle with Engraving: the Smooth Handle

Towards the bottom, the handle widens into a teardrop with a mirror-like surface, without grooves and without ornament. A first name, a date or a set of initials can be engraved there, up to 20 characters.

In the cart: first the rattle, then the engraving service fee, nothing more. What exactly goes on the handle is something we settle with you in conversation after you have ordered; you do not approve anything beforehand. If the engraving cannot be done on the piece, we refund the fee. Allow an extra 1 to 3 working days for delivery. Individually engraved goods are excluded from the right of withdrawal, so check the name and date once more before you send off your order.

Whatever does not fit on the handle is taken on by the SilberVerse card. You receive the SilberVerse card free on request: created with the help of AI from your details about the name and the occasion, it is a verse of three to four lines, in another language if you wish. It comes as a photo card in 15 × 10 cm landscape format; you choose the standard frame in silver, white or black.

Smooth Handle, Ball Head or Teething Ring: the Elephants Compared

The same animal comes in three designs in the shop. This one is the calm one: a free-standing figure, a smooth handle, room for up to 20 characters. The elephant on the ball shows its face in relief on a decorated handle with two engraving panels, one each for the name and the date. The elephant on the teething ring hangs from an acrylic ring and cannot be engraved. If you want to put the name and the date on separate panels, choose the ball; if you want the figure at the centre, choose this one.

For a Birth, for a Christening and for Godparents

The elephant suits several occasions. For a christening it gets the date of the christening on the handle, for a birth the date of birth together with the first name. Gifts from godparents like to combine both: first an animal that symbolises luck, and with it the child's name in silver. The elephant can also be chosen for your own baby, with its friendly face and large ears.

Mirror Shine and Folds: How to Care for the Figure

Every fingerprint shows on the handle, and a soft cloth removes it again. Dust collects in the folds of the ears and under the trunk, where a soft brush can reach it. Washing by hand is enough, with lukewarm water and a mild washing-up liquid; the dishwasher stays off limits, and a silver polishing cloth polishes tarnished silver. For children's hands: only under supervision.
