Description
What do a cartridge and a prayer have in common? This cartridge pendant in 925 sterling silver is engraved all around with the text of Psalm 91, one of the Bible's best-known psalms of protection. A shape that brings to mind danger thus becomes a symbol of preservation. It was crafted by the SevChern silversmiths. It is a gift for men who handle firearms: hunters, sport shooters, soldiers.
Has your brother just passed his hunting exam? Is a friend about to become the shooting champion? Or is your son joining the Bundeswehr for an extended period?

Silver instead of brass: the cartridge pendant in detail
Cartridge pendants are often made of brass or stainless steel. This one is crafted from 925 silver: a cap with a fine diamond pattern, a polished tip, and a matte casing in between. The psalm runs around the entire body in fine lines. The blackened letters in an Old Church Slavonic style make it legible and give the piece the feel of a find from another era.
Cartridge chain and Psalm 91 — what is the meaning behind them?
Hunters, sport shooters, and soldiers often wear a cartridge on a chain as a reminder of their own journey. The psalm adds another layer of meaning. Psalm 91 says that you do not need to be afraid "of the terrors of the night, or of the arrow that flies by day". The shape speaks of danger, the words of preservation.
On Orthodox items, the psalm is numbered 90 because the Eastern Church follows the Greek Bible. It is the same text you find as Psalm 91 in the Luther Bible.
Who the Psalm 91 pendant is suitable for
For a newly minted hunter, it is a companion for their first hunting sits. The new shooting champion receives a reminder of their year. Anyone joining the Bundeswehr or going on a mission receives something that will fit under their uniform. And for the father who has been hunting for decades, it is a birthday gift with depth.
Chain, card, and care
A sturdy silver chain or leather cord fits through the ring; neither is included in the delivery. The casing, which is engraved all around, cannot be engraved. For a personal message, the SilberVerse card is available free of charge upon request: we will write a short verse for the occasion. You can polish the polished tip to a shine with a soft cloth. Silver plating can brighten the dark lettering.
Questions about the cartridge pendant
What is the most powerful psalm?
The Bible does not rank them. However, Psalm 91 is particularly often cited when people ask for protection, which is why it is featured on this pendant. If you are looking for the corresponding Orthodox icon tradition, you will find it among our Orthodox silver icons.
Is this a real cartridge?
No. The pendant is purely a silver piece of jewelry, without powder or a primer.
Is the pendant also suitable for women?
Yes, for example for female hunters and sport shooters. However, at just over five and a half centimeters, it is a substantial piece. The Psalm 91 plaque is more delicate.
