Description
This 925 sterling silver Goat teaspoon features a round medallion at the end of the handle depicting a goat's head, engraved by hand and inlaid with niello. It is an adult-sized teaspoon for daily tea and a gift for birthdays under the sign of the Goat, for the Chinese New Year on February 6, 2027, and for anyone who collects zodiac spoons. A piece meant to be used, not tucked away in a cupboard.
Is someone turning sixty in 2027, born in 1967? Is there something lasting missing for the New Year? Or the next animal to follow the Horse?

What makes this Goat teaspoon special
The pointed oval handle end holds the medallion, with a diamond lattice pattern stretching down below it. Every line is hand-engraved, and the niello is fired into the recesses. The bowl remains smooth and highly polished.
The Goat in the medallion
In the Chinese zodiac, the Goat is the eighth sign, written as 羊 (yáng). In folklore, it represents peace and good fortune. The Year of the Fire Goat (丁未, Ding Wei) begins on February 6, 2027, and ends on January 25, 2028.
Gift for birthdays and the New Year
The sign includes the years 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015, and 2027. Those born in January or early February may belong to the previous year's animal, depending on the lunar date.
Collecting: Horse, Goat, Sheep
The shape is identical to the Horse spoon Steppe Wind, only the animal in the medallion changes. The silver Sheep spoon also belongs to the Year of the Goat.
Care
A soft cloth is sufficient; there is a guide available on the niello technique.
