Bowl, lid and knob are bone china from the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory in St. Petersburg; ArgentA makes the setting, handles and tongs from 925 silver.
Volute handles and bird claws: bowl and tongs in detail
The bowl rests in a setting with vertical cut-outs, with an acanthus band running above. Two volute handles frame it, and a white knob sits on the porcelain lid.
The sugar tongs have a slender plain bow. Their grips are shaped like bird claws, and like the bowl they are bright polished.
Setting, handles and tongs are polished by hand until volutes and bow shine calmly.
